Open Bed Co was not built by a software company that noticed an underserved vertical. It was built by an owner who ran the homes and hit every one of these walls herself.

Jennifer’s early exposure to long-term care came through her family, who owned care homes and strongly influenced her passion. Over the next three decades her experience spanned nearly every facet of healthcare and long-term care, from adult family homes, skilled nursing and assisted living to acute hospital care.

Built from the ground up

Her path was not polished or easy.

She started her first company with a low credit score and built forward from there.

Seventeen years of building and developing a leading care model, two care staff to five residents, now becoming a standard in adult family homes. Jen owned, operated and scaled seven successful homes, created an advanced-care model, grew the team behind it, and built a multimillion dollar residential care company.

She became a master at census management, profitability, team building, leadership development, systems creation, compliance strengthening, and scaling a company without letting growth destroy the operation behind it.

That experience exposed one of the industry’s biggest gaps: excellent caregivers are expected to become successful business owners without ever being taught how to create and run a business.
